Artistic proposals for coexistence and disarmament, Palais de Glace

"Artistic Proposals for Coexistence and Disarmament".
Speaking with Enio Iommi, the idea that it is not the weapons that kill, but the people who shoot them.appeared.
The center of attention is not the weapon itself., The man is the one who decides what to do

Guachito Pistola is presented as a game were the the fragments of pistols sent to me , becomes the person who shoots and the bullets into glass balls .

I’m part of the Lebensohn Foundation, whose objectives are to fight against violence in any of its ways, and also against discrimination and to try to install peaceful coexistence among Human beings .We are also working together with other organizations in favor of disarmament. That is why I have transformed the molten parts of pistols that were sent to me from Mendoza were they exchanged weapons for soccer and food tickets and which are the ones we used for the exhibition.

This exhibit was itinerant in various parts of the country and had a very positive response from the public. For its closure in Buenos Aires, they were young students and painted a long banner in front of thePalais de Glace museum with all the drawings and ideas in favor of disarmament. When I received the weapons I spent several days without deciding what to do with them since they immediately referred me to the fantasy or reality that they had been used for criminal acts, and that created a situation of anguish for me.Finally some ideas came up and I got to work on them.

In Argentina, an arms exchange has already been approved and is being implemented and I hope that the response will be successful.I think that artists, with our work, try to provoke changes, and constantly question the society and sometimes anticipate with ideas and acts what is happening. The issue of disarmament and violence are very complex since there are many interests at stake, from governments, arms manufacturers, drug traffickers, a lot of money is being moved. With these actions, or participating in other types of events that promote non-violence, which are carried out jointly in various parts of the world, we are showing in a peaceful way that art can contribute to peace even if the process is slow. and difficult.
